I Thought I Was the Problem | The Truth About PCOS and Male Infertility

For years, I believed that my PCOS was the only reason we couldn’t have a baby.

I blamed myself.

Every negative pregnancy test felt like another reminder that my body wasn’t doing what I hoped it would. Like many women living with PCOS, I thought the diagnosis explained everything.

Then one day, our journey changed.

We learned that fertility isn’t just about the woman. My partner also had his own fertility condition, and that realization completely changed the way I viewed infertility. It wasn’t about finding someone to blame.

It wasn’t about whose ‘fault’ it was.

It was about understanding that building a family is something two people do together, and fertility should be approached the same way.

That experience inspired me to write my newest article: PCOS and Male Infertility: Why Fertility Is a Shared Journey 

In this article, I share not only my personal experience but also evidence from leading medical organizations showing that both partners should be evaluated when a couple is struggling to conceive. Yet in many cultures, the woman is still the first and sometimes the only person expected to undergo tests, treatments, and lifestyle changes.

This needs to change.

Male infertility is more common than many people realize, and many causes can be identified and treated when addressed early. Getting checked isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of love, responsibility, and partnership.
