Angela Koech: PRECISE Network Findings Point to Targeted Stillbirth Prevention

Angela Koech, Assistant Professor at Aga Khan University, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Sharing our PRECISE cohort study findings , now published in The Lancet Regional Health – Africa.

Risk rose in pregnancies with a previous stillbirth, severe hypertension, bleeding in pregnancy, or a baby who was not growing well

Many stillbirths are preventable. Simply attending antenatal care and counting visits is not enough, antenatal care should aim to identify risks in individual women, and initiate specific interventions to prevent stillbirth and other complications.

To the PRECISE Network teams across all three countries – thank you. And above all, to the families who shared their experiences so that others might not have to: this is for you.
