Basky Thilaganathan: Enhancing Brain Health Through Postpartum Blood Pressure Control
Basky Thilaganathan, Professor and Director of Fetal Medicine at St. George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper published in JAMA Neurology:
“Physician-optimized blood pressure self-management has shown a positive association with higher white matter volumes compared to usual care. The early postpartum period is a crucial time to enhance long-term cognitive outcomes for women who have experienced a hypertensive pregnancy. Notably, improved postpartum blood pressure control may help mitigate the negative effects of preeclampsia on brain health.”
