Recombinant LH Fails to Improve Pregnancy Outcomes in IVF Study – RBMO

“This study is the first to investigate the impact of recombinant LH supplementation on cumulative live birth rate in overweight/obese patients.
The findings demonstrate that rhFSH with rhLH did not improve CLBR or pregnancy outcomes significantly compared with rhFSH alone, providing critical effect size references for future RCT design.
Subgroup analyses revealed no differential treatment effects across BMI stratification (overweight versus obesity), stimulation protocols (GnRH-antagonist protocol versus depot GnRH-agonist long protocol), embryo transfer strategies (fresh embryo transfer versus frozen embryo transfer), and embryonic developmental stages (cleavage versus blastocyst).
Considering the absence of clear benefit and potential cost implications, the authors conclude that a cautious approach to the use of rhLH is recommended in this population.
