AI Enhances Fertilization Assessment Beyond Static Embryo Observation – Fairtility
Fairtility shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper by Giovanni Coticchio et al. publishded on Oxford Academics:
“A recent Human Reproduction study by Coticchio et al. (2025) highlights the limitations of assessing fertilization through single static observations. The findings show that this approach can miss a notable proportion of zygotes, particularly when pronuclear formation occurs outside the usual observation window, which may lead to inaccurate assessment of fertilization outcomes.
The study points to the importance of continuous monitoring for a more complete understanding of embryo development.
This is where AI tools like CHLOE can support embryologists, by automatically detecting and tracking pronuclei across the full developmental timeline, ensuring that no key events are overlooked and that assessments remain consistent and data-driven.”

Title: Embryos not showing pronuclei by single static observation arise from atypical pronuclear dynamics or rare unfertilized oocytes with abortive cleavage behaviour
