Amos Grünebaum: Alcohol Guidance in Pregnancy Needs Public Health Clarity
Amos Grünebaum, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The current federal softening of alcohol guidance especially troubling: the new dietary guidelines still say pregnant women should avoid alcohol, but the broader government message has moved away from clear daily limits and toward the much vaguer phrase ‘consume less alcohol for better health.’ That may sound harmless, but vague language is not public health clarity, especially when alcohol remains a major, preventable reproductive exposure.”
