When fertility care is framed as a moral project rather than a medical one, patients pay the price. A new JAMA Viewpoint examines how so-called ‘restorative reproductive medicine’ restricts access to IVF and other evidence-based treatments, not because they are unsafe, but because they conflict with ideology. In this piece, I unpack why denying effective care in the name of ‘natural’ medicine is neither ethical nor patient-centered, and why this debate matters far beyond infertility clinics.
