Ruchika Sood: The Most Important Part of Patient Care Is the Conversation That Happens Before It
Ruchika Sood, Consultant IVF at Apollo Fertility, shared on LinkedIn:
”Over the years in fertility practice, one thing has become increasingly clear to me: the most important part of patient care often isn’t the treatment itself – it’s the conversation that happens before it.
No fertility treatment, however advanced, guarantees a pregnancy. What it can do is meaningfully improve the odds, when the right evaluation and the right plan are in place.
That distinction matters, and I believe patients deserve to hear it clearly, not glossed over.
I started focusing more intentionally on fertility and IVF care because I saw how much clarity – not just clinical skill – can change a patient’s experience.
Informed patients make better decisions, and they carry less unnecessary guilt and fear along the way.
If you’re a referring physician, a fellow specialist, or simply someone who’s found this perspective useful, I’d love to connect and exchange notes.”
