Devyanshi Dixit: Can We Detect Gynecologic Cancer Before Symptoms Appear?

Devyanshi Dixit, Program Manager at CLS Event and Publication and Conference Manager at the 12th Global Summit on Gynecology, shared on LinkedIn:

“Can We Detect Gynecologic Cancer Before Symptoms Appear?

Cancer detection often begins when something feels wrong.

But the future of gynecologic oncology is asking a different question:

What if we could identify risk before symptoms begin?

Emerging research is exploring several promising approaches:

  • Biomarkers – Blood and molecular markers may help identify cancer-related changes earlier.
  • Genetic and genomic testing – Understanding inherited risk can help identify women who may benefit from closer surveillance.
  • Advanced imaging – New approaches in ultrasound and MRI are improving the detection and characterization of suspicious changes.
  • Liquid biopsy – Researchers are studying circulating tumor DNA and other signals released by cancer cells.
  • Artificial intelligence – AI can analyze complex imaging, pathology, and clinical data to identify patterns that may be difficult to detect manually.

But There’s a Critical Reality

Not every promising technology is ready for routine screening.

Early detection must be accurate, clinically validated, accessible, and carefully balanced against false positives and overdiagnosis.

The goal isn’t simply to detect cancer earlier.

It is to detect it accurately, intervene sooner, and improve outcomes.

These advances are opening important conversations about the future of precision gynecology, molecular diagnostics, AI, and personalized cancer care.

The 12th Global Summit on Gynecology, Fertility and Women’s Health (GFWH 2026) will bring together researchers, clinicians, and healthcare experts to explore emerging innovations shaping women’s healthcare.

  • November 23–24, 2026
  • Bangkok, Thailand

The future of gynecologic cancer care may begin before the first symptom appears.”
